How The Cables Get Outside

Power to the roof

The cables get outside though caps between the brickwork and the rollerdoor rail. (Most of the cables had the connectors chopped off when doing this.) The thicker extension lead is carefully hooked back over the top/side of the track so it doesn't get sliced up when someone opens the door. This method has worked perfectly for quite a few years now.

Power Iines

Powerlines running inside the garage. Some of these end up outside via a window as shown below...

Attaching Lights

As for sticking the lights on the roof, use strong cloth tape, otherwise known as gaffer tape. However in the hot Australian summer sun, you'll probably have to climb up on the roof every weekend or so and restick parts of it back down again.

To attach lights to gutters use twister wire to create a loop between the overflow slot and the top of the gutter.

Don't even bother trying to use normal electicial / plastic tape unless you can wrap the tape around itself (ie, a pole/tree branch) as this stuff won't hold it's stickness at all.
